Join a visionary community reimagining the future!

We invite you to participate in an innovative online project crafting a vivid, sustainable world through the power of collective imagination. Solarpunk envisions a future where society lives in harmony with the planet, using technology for the betterment of the environment and humanity. This project is not just about dreaming of a greener future — it’s about designing it, one step at a time.

How It Works

Each week, we post a new set of polls to our Collective World-Building Project page with questions designed to flesh out different aspects of our emerging solarpunk world. From the energy sources that power our cities to the ways in which we govern, from our cultural expressions to technological advancements, your votes and comments directly shape this evolving solarpunk world as well as future poll questions.

Every two months, our highly advanced Generative AhI (All-human Intelligence) System will create vivid prose and art describing and depicting the aspects of our solarpunk world we’ve collectively decided on over the previous months.

These write ups and art will be released first to our Patreon supporters to show them gratitude for their financial support of Solarpunk Magazine and the work we do. But after a week they will each be published on the Solarpunk Magazine website’s Collective World-Build page and available there for free to all.

Why Participate?

  • Influence the Narrative: Your choices in our polls directly influence the development of the world we’re building together, helping decide everything from architectural styles and other aspects of setting to societal norms, governance, and land use planning.
  • Engage in Creative Community: Connect with like-minded futurists, artists, environmentalists, visionaries, and solarpunks. Share ideas, inspire, and get inspired.
  • Explore Complex Topics: Dive deep into discussions about sustainability, technology, community living, and more. Help tackle how a society can thrive without exploiting of the earth, each other, or other species.
  • Learn and Educate: Through direct participation, learn more about solarpunk principles and contribute to spreading awareness on sustainable living.
  • Be Part of Something Bigger: Help create a detailed and imaginative world that can inspires authors, artists, game makers, and film produces to create solarpunk stories, and might — hopefully — one day inspire real-world applications and communities.
